What do you hope to do when you graduate from Cal Poly?
I would like to work in the the bay area, preferably at a large company, and ideally gain 3-4 years of software development experience and then go back to school for an MBA.
What did you end up doing last summer?
Last summer I interned at a local e-commerce company called Shopatron for around 8 weeks, and worked within the software development team to build web technologies. The thing I loved most about it was that I was able to apply the skills I learned in classes to the professional world. Getting to see my work put into production was also rewarding as well.
What is a long term goal that you hope to eventually accomplish one day?
My long term goal is to become a better person, in all aspects.
How has AKPsi shaped your career?
AKPsi has shaped my career by surrounding me with achieving and ambitious people. I have not yet found a group of people that, as a whole, shares the same kind of motivation and drive. They have taught me to never give up, and to work hard in order to turn dreams into reality.
Favorite memory of AKPsi?
One random night, a group of brothers and I decided to have a beach bonfire. We bought some wood, marshmallows, crackers, and chocolate and headed to the beach, where just sat in front of that fire and roasted smores and talked. Being able to enjoy each other's company around a warm fire- that to me is the essence of brotherhood bonding.
